Verse 1: You are always with the celestial cow Kamadhenu that fulfills all desires, and the Kalpavriksha, the celestial wish-fulfilling tree. You freely give everything that one desires. Your six hands are resplendent with the spiritual staff (holy stick), the pot that holds sacred water, the trident of Siva that dispels spiritual ignorance, the celestial drum of Shiva that wakes devotees up from the sleep of spiritual ignorance, the sacred conch of Vishnu that ever produces the sound of ‘OM’, the syllable that is the source of the entire Creation, and the powerful disc of Vishnu that destroys the evil of spiritual ignorance.
Verse 2: You are the most noble and pure. You are the best among men. You are manifested in the full moon (in the photographs of the moon taken during a total lunar eclipse, the three colors of white, yellow, and red signifying the Trinity are clearly visible). You free your devotees from the bondage of worldly thoughts and the endless cycle of births and deaths. You remove their fear. You are an ocean of compassion.
Verse 3: You are born under the auspicious star Krittika. You are revered and followed by all the sages. You are a most accomplished messenger from God. You steal the hearts of devotees. You reside in the innermost cave of the sacred sahyadri mountain range (inside the cave which is the innermost core of the hearts of devotees). You are Sat, Chit, Ananda, Truth, Consciousnes, and Bliss. You are the ultimate spiritual guru, and are none other than Lord Dattatreya Himself, the first and foremost Guru of all.
